Sheffield Theatres today announce a host of new productions touring to the Lyceum and Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse in 2026. And the Crucible Christmas musical for 2026-2027 is also revealed: Singin’ in the Rain will be splashing onto the Crucible stage to delight audiences next Christmas. The newly announced shows include a mix of intense thrillers, favourite musicals, thought-provoking plays, plus huge hits coming to Sheffield for the first time. Tickets for all touring productions will be going on sale October2025, with Singin’ in the Rain going on sale in November2025.




In the Lyceum in 2026:
Sharing a flat can be murder… Starring Kym Marsh (Coronation Street, Waterloo Road and Abigail’s Party), Single White Female is the gripping new stage thriller inspired by the cult novel and 90’s film, touring to Sheffield from Tuesday 24 - Saturday 28 February. Allie, a single mum launching her tech business, advertises for a flatmate—and Hedy seems perfect. But as their lives intertwine, secrets surface and identities blur with dangerous and unimaginable consequences. Full of dark humour and stiletto-sharp suspense.
Croft House Theatre Company present their take on the legend, diva and icon that is: Cher. The Cher Show celebrates the story of Cher’s life and career: the highs, lows, loves, hits and outrageously fabulous costumes. Featuring the biggest hits from her extensive back catalogue, including: I Got You Babe, If I Could Turn Back Time, The Shoop Shoop Song and Believe. This amateur production of The Cher Show is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, from Tuesday 24 – Saturday 28 March.
Masters of storytelling Northern Ballet bring to the stage the extraordinary story of Anne Lister — better known as Gentleman Jack – from Tuesday 31 March - Saturday 4 April. Inspiring biographies, novels, a hit TV series and now a ballet, this thrilling new production brings to the stage the remarkable story of Anne Lister; a trailblazing 19th century Yorkshire woman who lived unapologetically on her own terms. Choreographed by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and co-produced with Finnish National Ballet, Gentleman Jack is performed to new live music.
Step right up and enter the dazzling world of Barnum, where imagination and ambition know no bounds. West End favourite and TV star Lee Mead will take centre stage as the legendary 19th century showman as, hand in hand with wife Charity, P. T. Barnum’s life and career twists and turns as he schemes and dreams his way to headier heights. This spectacular production is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle and choreographed by Oti Mabuse. Come and see CBeebies’ megastar Justin Fletcher live on stage in Justin Time To Rock! He and his friends put together a rock band, but with so many songs to choose from, they are going to need your help to choose the best songs to sing and dance to! Under the Stars War: A 2025 Space Odyssey is an intergalactic musical adventure featuring out of this world dance and music. Presented by Under the Stars, a Sheffield-based charity supporting people with learning disabilities and autism through performing arts and community events. Playing on Friday 12 December 2025.
A work in progress sharing by Roots Mbili Theatre, Kubulaya - Away From Home is a bold new play examining how culture, finance and faith contribute to the high rate of separation among Sub-Saharan African couples who migrate to the UK. The show blends African and Western storytelling traditions with an infusion of Zambian folk music, written and directed by John Rwothomack. Playing on Wednesday 14 January 2026.
Rachel is a theatre-loving, enigmatic, learning-disabled 35 year-old who loves Kylie and seeing people falling over. At the touch of a button she commands the action, each scene brought to life by a skilled cast. Perfect Show For Rachel is a joyous show combining physical theatre, live music, family memories, massive fights and fart jokes in an electric, moving and triumphant tapestry. From Tuesday 24 - Wednesday 25 February, Dry Bits is a riotous new one-woman show by local writer-performer Imogen Ashby. With wit, warmth and a killer 1980s soundtrack, she dives head-first into the chaos of menopause – from hot flushes and office outbursts to teenage regrets, rage and unexpected revelations. Honest, hilarious and full of heart, Dry Bits smashes the silence around the change and invites audiences to laugh, rage and reflect. A safe space, a rallying cry – and a brilliant night out.

Now, as a storm rages outside, landlady Sanjana, Scott the guitar-playing regular and some unexpected guests are stuck together in their local. Dash Arts present Our Public House, with live music and the real words of people across England, tensions rise, love sparks, secrets spill out and everyone starts speaking their minds. On Monday 22 June, Take Flight is a stunning aerial theatre show for 0-2 year olds and their grown-ups. The story follows a musical mother bird as their baby hatches and explores, navigating the challenges of hunger, sleep and play. Culminating in a beautiful aerial moment this multi-sensory, interactive show ignites the imagination and curiosity of babies, with a fun stay and play session also available after the show.
In the Crucible:
Set to delight audiences next Christmas, in the Crucible, Singin’ in the Rain will run from Thursday 26 November 2026 - Saturday 16 January 2027. Beautiful, charismatic, and very much in love (if you believe what you read in the press), Hollywood’s golden couple, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont have the world at their feet. But when “talkies” start to replace silent movies, and an aspiring actress is drafted in to save the day, life as they know it is turned upside down. An irresistibly charming take on one of the world’s best-loved films, Singin’ in the Rain combines high-energy choreography and a sumptuous set with a glorious MGM score including Good Morning, Make ‘em Laugh and the legendary Singin’ in the Rain.
