About
A big-hearted and funny new play
Real issues. Real words. Real hope.
With real words from people across England, and live music with original songs, Our Public House is a funny, hopeful and big-hearted show about change. Because if change is going to start somewhere, why not in the local pub?
In a town just like yours, a whole community spoiled their ballots and cast no vote.
Inside a local pub on the brink of closure, as a storm rages outside, landlady Sanjana, Scott the guitar-playing regular, a family in mourning and some unexpected guests are thrown together for the night. In a town divided by politics, secrets spill. Songs rise. People fall in love. Something shifts.
Inspired by the real words of over 700 people nationwide, Our Public House transforms the state of the nation into a play with original live music, about community, connection and what might change if everyone had their say. Where drama and voices like yours take centre stage.
With Kit Esuruoso (Tina The Musical), Chaya Gupta (EastEnders), Gabriella Leon (Casualty), Lauren Moakes (Romeo and Juliet), Fergus O Donnell (Downtown Abbey, Holby City) and Bharti Patel (Doctors, EastEnders).
From award-winning Dash Arts, writer Barney Norris (“of grace and luminosity” – The Stage) and director Josephine Burton (“immersive ingenuity” – The Observer)
