Auditoriums

Our distinctive and impressive auditoriums can host events and shows for up to 1000 people. Whether you are looking at the modern Crucible auditorium, traditional Lyceum, or the flexible space of the Playhouse Theatre, our spaces offer a dramatic backdrop for your next event.

Adelphi Room

The contemporary and bright Adelphi room is a versatile space in the Crucible, with its own balcony and views of the Lyceum and Tudor Square, is great for meetings, workshops, receptions, and private dining.

Upper Foyer

The Upper Foyer with bar area is a light and airy space, perfect for larger events and gatherings. The Upper Foyer in the Crucible is well suited as a breakout and reception space during meetings and conferences, or larger dining events and parties.

Montgomery Auditorium

With over 400 seats spread over two levels, the Montgomery Auditorium hosts everything from cultural festivals, community theatre and dance schools to fully-fledged professional touring productions.

Montgomery Gallery

The heart of the Montgomery Theatre - a beautiful Victorian room with high ceilings and large period windows looking out over the Town Hall. The Gallery Bar can host networking sessions, large meetings, panel discussions and much more.

Montgomery Studio

With a fitted dancefloor and large mirrored wall, the Studio is the perfect blank slate for your workshop, rehearsal or creative development session. Equipped with step-free access, a breakout space and small kitchenette.

Old Library

Recently upgraded to be fully step-free, the Old Library provides a warm, bright space with super-fast wifi for your next writing session, meeting or mellow workshop.

MacDonald Room

An elegant and comfortable room, this private space located in the Lyceum, is well suited to hosting smaller events and receptions.

Weddings and Celebrations

With the Crucible auditorium and Adelphi room being licenced for wedding ceremonies, we can offer two wonderfully unique venues to get married in, as well as reception spaces to enjoy a wedding breakfast and dance the night away.

As well as weddings, we can also host a range of other celebrations including birthdays, anniversaries, dinners, and parties, all with the stunning backdrop of the theatre.
