General Workshop Auditions for Local Actors

Sheffield Theatres is dedicated to meeting and working with professional actors based in our region, and we are excited to announce another round of General Workshop Auditions for Local Actors.
These auditions will continue to develop our network of and relationships with the professional actors based in our region. This time, looking ahead to our 2026 productions, we’re dedicating these days to meeting actor-musicians.
We know that places at these workshops are limited so we are keen to affirm that there will continue to be opportunities of this nature in the future.
What are the General Workshop Auditions?
Hour-long group workshop-style auditions co-led by Elizabeth Newman (Artistic Director, Sheffield Theatres), Ben Occhipinti (Co-Director, Summer Holiday), and Richard Reeday (Freelance Musical Director). They will take place at Sheffield Theatres.
When are the General Workshops Auditions?
Day One will take place on Fri 28 November 2025 and Day Two will take place on Sat 29 November 2025.
What is a Local Actor-Musician or Musical Theatre Performer?
To be eligible for these General Workshop Auditions you must be based within 30 miles of Sheffield Theatres and you must have either completed a relevant professional training programme, or have at least one professional credit. You must play at least one instrument to a highly skilled level.
How can I apply?
Booking will open at 10am on Friday 14 November 2025.
Actors are able to book places on a first-come first-serve basis either online using the link on this page or over the phone by calling our Box Office on 0114 249 6000
