About
Open Works Festival presents Listening to Landscapes: creating stories and performances from found sound.
The Bare Project have been creating and using audio archives within their artworks for 15 years: as part of their socially engaged practice, as material for soundscapes, and as starting points for stories.
In this session we’ll be focusing on nature-based field recordings as starting points for devising performance, stories, and as a means of exploring our relationship with the landscapes we live in. We’ll look at both practical techniques in gathering sounds, as well as ways in which they can be used in professional rehearsal processes and/or community arts workshops.
