About
Open Works Festival Presents a work in progress performance of For Worms.
Suzie makes a land grab - breaking ground on an urban gorilla garden. But her digging disturbs trauma long buried in mud and slugs and worms; and soon the garden is under threat from mysterious enemies. How will history remember the rage of the righteous community gardener?
A modern reimagining of Gerrard Winstanley's ill-fated Digger movement of 1649; For Worms takes from working class and anglo celtic folk culture in a surreal exploration of community politics, class, environmental activism, illness and anger. It mulches physical theatre, dance, folk song and drama with the mud and blood of life, death and womanhood.
