Sheffield Theatres has been nominated for an amazing five 2019 UK Theatre Awards: Best Musical Production, Best New Play, Best Director, Best Design and Best Performance in a Play.

Standing at the Sky’s Edge, which opened in March 2019 and was directed by Sheffield Theatres Artistic Director Robert Hastie is nominated for Best Musical Production.

Life of Pi, which opened in the Crucible in June 2019 to critical acclaim, has received four nominations: Best New Play, Best Director for Max Webster, Best Design for Carolyn Downing, Andrzej Goulding, Tim Hatley and Tim Lutkin and Best Performance in a Play for Hiran Abeysekera.

The winners of the 2019 UK Theatre Awards will be announced on Sunday 27 October at London’s historic Guildhall.
