On your marks...
We’re gearing up for this year’s Sheffield 10k Run, which will be taking place on Sunday 28 September 2025, starting from Arundel Gate.
After such a successful event last year - when our amazing runners raised nearly £4,000 to support our work - we will once again have members of the Sheffield Theatres team taking to the running track!
We will be cheering on our 31 runners who will be raising funds for Sheffield Theatres Trust.
Hear from a couple of those taking part, who told us what this run means for them:
"I am running the Sheffield 10K for Sheffield Theatres with the aim to raise money to create more opportunities for children and young people in and around the city. For them to engage in Drama, Music, Dance and harness their creativity in the community and across our four stages".
- Sam Erskine, Learning Coordinator
"Sheffield Theatres are a fantastic charity that have always done so much for me. From introducing me to theatre in the Playhouse when I was four years old, to supporting my playwriting and practise as an adult. I ran the 10k last year with sciatica and it was a hugely supportive experience, I was overwhelmed by everyone's kindness. Children need to be exposed to theatre and the arts as often as is possible and that's why I'm running, to encourage the next generation and open up new opportunities for young people to be in those kind of spaces."
- Ellie May Blackburn, theatre maker and supported artist
All money raised from our runners or walkers will help to support our work with children and young people, developing confidence through creativity, sparking imaginations and nurturing the talent of the future.
