Music in the Round's visiting string quartet, the Consone Quartet, is joined by acclaimed historical clarinettist Nicola Boud for an evening of Mozart.

The composer’s radiant Clarinet Quintet K581 combines effortless elegance with extraordinary warmth, and is joined here by a movement from an earlier clarinet quintet (completed by Robert Levin) which provides a charming contrast to the later, well-known piece. Performed on period instruments, with gut strings, alongside a historical clarinet, this is a rare opportunity to hear these beloved works with the transparency, texture and intimacy of a sound world from the late 1700s.
