Our Processes - What To Expect

Access Requirements
At every stage of our recruitment campaign, we will ask you if you have any access requirements that we would need to be aware of in order to make our processes as accessible as possible for all applicants.
We are open to receiving applications in a way that is best for you. We accept a Cover Letter and CV for each role. This might be as a written application, but it could also be by recording a video or an audio file.
Additional access support in our recruitment processes may include:
- BSL interpretation and captioning
- Meeting remotely
- Audio description
- Receiving questions in advance
- Additional preparation time
If you require support in completing your application, you can contact our HR team at recruitment@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.
Please note that we do not accept CVs for roles unless advertised.
Interviews
As we are a Disability Confident Committed employer, we will also review any applications for d/Deaf or Disabled candidates to ensure that those that meet the selection criteria are invited to an interview.
Feedback
We welcome feedback around how we can make our processes more accessible for all, you can email your suggestions to recruitment@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.

Application Stage
Following your application, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your application from our recruitment software, People HR.
We generally contact applicants by email so please take care to ensure that the email address and phone number provided when applying are correct and the best for us to contact you on. You may also find that emails from our system pop into your junk email folder.
If you have applied and need to amend your application, including to attach a document, you do not need to re-submit your application. Our HR Team will be happy to help, please email recruitment@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk
Unless the application details specify that we are reviewing CVs on receipt of them, shortlisting will take place after the application deadline specified in the job ad.

Interview Stage
We aim to shortlist candidates for interview within the week following the closing date and contact all applicants within a reasonable timeframe so that you can make any necessary arrangements and prepare. There are occasions when we experience a delay to this process, but we will let you know as soon as we can that this has happened.
When we invite you to interview, we will do so by email. We will email you a couple of times and may try to call if we can’t get in touch with you. We offer interviews both in person and digitally (using Teams). However, there are times where a digital interview isn’t possible, for example if there is a specific task that cannot be completed virtually or we would like to show you where you will be working.
Once you have confirmed that you are able to make the date and time we have given for your interview, we will confirm this in writing along with details of the interview panel, the location of the interview – which Theatre or the Teams joining details - and the job description for the role. We would also include any details for presentations or tasks, should this be something we’re asking you to complete for the interview.
You can email recruitment@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk if you want to request a change to your interview or have any questions.
