Consumed by Karis Kelly will return in Spring 2026 for performances at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast and the Park Theatre, London.
The show, directed by Katie Posner, is a Paines Plough, Belgrade Theatre, Sheffield Theatres and Women’s Prize for Playwriting co-production which opened at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, before touring to to Belgrade Theatre, Leeds Playhouse, and Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. It next opens in Sheffield in the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse from Wednesday 24 September – Saturday 11 October
Consumed will go one to play at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast from 24 February - 8 March 2026, before moving to London’s Park Theatre from 18 March - 18 April. The Spring 2026 remount of Consumed will be presented by Paines Plough, Park Theatre and the Lyric Belfast.
Winner of the Women’s Prize for the Playwriting 2022, Karis Kelly’s play is a pitch-black and twisted comedy of dysfunctional family dynamics, generational trauma and national boundaries.
Katie Posner, director of Consumed and joint artistic director of Paines Plough, said:“Following a sold-out run in Edinburgh and the joy of meeting thousands of audience members across the country, I’m so happy that Consumed will continue its life with a remount in Spring 2026. Bringing the play home to Belfast - the city in which it is set - means so much, and I’m thrilled we get to do that in partnership with our brilliant friends at the Lyric. I’m equally delighted to begin a new co-producing relationship with the Park Theatre in London, whose platforming of new work and dynamic theatre space makes them the perfect home for this play. Alongside our original co-producers, this revival is going to be knottier, funnier and more thrilling than ever, a chance to share once again this show which has been hailed as bold, dangerous and unmissable. This kitchen is going to get hot, don’t miss out.”
Consumed opens at the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse from Wednesday 24 September.
