Masterclasses & Play Readings
Work with some of the creative teams of our productions to develop your skills and get and insight into their work. Aimed at those with a little experience.

Based on The York Realist, look at subtext, the actors' motivation and how to maintain this in both intimate and group scenes.
Participants are advised to see The York Realist in preparation for this session.
Sat 12 May 9.30am - 11.30am
Based on Our Country's Good, this workshop is an introduction to the exciting possibilities that are opened up when you make theatre that is accessible to D/deaf and disabled audiences.

Work with playwright Chris Bush to disseminate playwriting and follow her journey of Steel, get hints and tips on how to develop a play around local politics.
Sat 3 Nov 9.30am - 11.30am
Led by Close Quarters director Kate Wasserberg. Based on Close Quarters, look at how to create gallows humour and how to find the balance between tension and relief. Participants are advised to see Close Quarters in preparation for this session.
Sat 15 Dec 9.30am - 11.30am
Work with a choreographer to explore the world of the musical, how do routines come together, where do you start, a fabulous workshop for dancers wanting to explore this world.
All Masterclasses are suitable for ages 16+
