'Ubuntu' means humanity, often used to mean 'I am because we are'. That encapsulates the guiding principle of Why Refugee Women. The Ubuntu Fashion show is about inclusiveness, about women from all walks of life coming together to celebrate their journeys and also showcase their roots through fashion.

For refugees and asylum seekers, it is important that we are recognised as human beings with something to offer. The fashion show also aims to counter the usual myths about refugees and asylum seekers. Please come and celebrate our journeys and joys with us.

This fashion show is part of the Spirit of Africa Festival - Fri 26 & Sat 27 October
