The Guardian on La Strada

A new musical adaptation inspired by Federico Fellini's Oscar winning masterpiece
Based on the subject and script work by Federico Fellini, Ennio Flaiano and Tullio Pinelli, directed by Sally Cookson.

From the Olivier award-winning Producer of West End hits Top Hat,  The Play That Goes Wrong and Hetty Feather

A young woman and a strong man drive through the Italian countryside performing a double-act for their keep. When the mismatched pair come across a travelling circus whose principal attraction is a daredevil tight-rope walker, the young woman finds herself caught between the two men.

Frederico Fellini’s Oscar-winning La Strada is one of the all-time masterpieces of world cinema. This musical adaptation is directed by Olivier Award nominee Sally Cookson (Jane Eyre & Peter Pan National Theatre, Hetty Feather West End) and boasts a beautiful new score by Benji Bower with songs performed by an international cast of actor musicians. Moving between the dazzling lights of the circus and the bare landscapes of rural Italy, this production of La Strada promises to be a theatrical feast for all the senses.

Running time: About 1 hour and 50 minutes (including a 15 minute interval)
