Spirit of Africa Festival – Fri 26 & Sat 27 October

What if we could, just for two days, bring Africa to the heart of Sheffield?

Utopia Theatre and Sheffield Theatres are delighted to present the Spirit of Africa Festival from Friday 26 - Saturday 27 October, 10.00am – 10.30pm each day.

A two day festival of cultural immersion, the festival celebrates the whole African continent and the African Diaspora. Bringing people together to engage with and enjoy traditional and contemporary music, theatre, film, fashion show, visual arts, African Market place, dance, poets, thinkers, education workshops, networking and food and drinks. The festival will also provide a platform for local artists to showcase their work.

Don't miss traditional and contemporary live music from artists such as AkalaDele Sosimi & the Afrobeat Orchestra, Iroko Theatre, Oduduwa Talking DrummersAar MaantaBreisNamvula and many more (see the full festival events listing below)!

There is no upper age limit – all ages are welcome. All events and workshops during the festival are FREE, except for acts on the Crucible Stage.
