New Writing

We are looking to find the best new plays in the region and the country. We are seeking work which is bold, passionate and enriching, for plays which reflect the here and now, writing from unique voices with original perspectives, based around ideas not often explored, stories that are at home not only in our city but on our stages here at Sheffield Theatres. If you have such a play we want to hear from you.

Submitting your work
Please send scripts to New Work Co-ordinator Ruby Clarke on r.clarke@sheffieldtheatres.co.uk in word or pdf format.

What happens next?
You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of your script, which will then be read by someone in the artistic team.  We read scripts not only in the search for future productions, but also to find writers with whom we may wish to develop relationships with in the future and any feedback given will reflect this.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide critical feedback on all scripts received, though we will always inform writers of the final outcome.
