A host of shows heading to the Lyceum Theatre for 2021 and 2022 go on general sale from Monday 1 February at 12 noon. These new and rescheduled shows join the previously announced season in December.

From 8 June, enrol at Westerberg High with Heathers; a dark comedy based on the 80s teen film. Popularity is a matter of life and death for Veronica Sawyer. When she’s unexpectedly taken under the wings of the three beautiful and impossibly cruel Heathers, her dreams of popularity finally start to come true – until Veronica learns it’s murder being a somebody.
Northern Ballet returns with its provocative production of Dangerous Liaisons from 15 June. Delve into 18th century France, where two bored aristocrats spin a web of heartbreak and ruin. Set to Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, this dangerous story has been thrilling audiences for over 200 years from the original scandalous novel of 1782.
Then it is time for Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 the Musical from 29 June. Inspired by the cult film, we meet Doralee, Violet and Judy: three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. They hatch a plan to kidnap their supervisor, but will they manage to keep their cool when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?
Head into eerier territory from 6 July with the return of the creepy, spooky, mysterious and kooky Addams Family. Wednesday Addams is all grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows: she's fallen in love. With his cherished Morticia in the dark, will Gomez manage to keep his daughter’s secret? A spectacular musical comedy from the writers of multi-award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys.
Then, out of the darkness and into the spotlight, we welcome back Sheffield’s much-loved production Everybody’s Talking About Jamie from 3 August. Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield, but he is going to be a sensation. Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and triumphs at the school prom. From Sheffield Theatres’ original production in 2017, this fabulous musical returns to the Lyceum for its second year.
From 16 August, grab your dancing shoes and secure your ‘do: Hairspray is back at the Lyceum and bolder than ever. Teen Tracy Turnblad dreams of dancing on the Corny Collins Show, but her new-found fame not only gets the attention of the school heart-throb, but ignites a wider fight for equality. The irresistible feel-good musical about a girl with big hair and an even bigger heart.
The singing and dancing continues into October with the ever-stylish sing-along Grease, running from 5 October. After a whirlwind summer romance, leather-clad greaser Danny and girl-next-door Sandy are unexpectedly reunited when she transfers to Rydell High for senior year. But can they survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life and find true love again?
Transferring from last Christmas, 2021’s pantomime Sleeping Beauty will be back on stage, with Sheffield legend Damian Williams at the helm for more laughs and festive fun for all the family. Running from Friday 3 December 2021 through to Sunday 3 January 2022.
Looking ahead, Six the Musical is rescheduled to 19 April 2022. From Tudor queens to pop princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII finally take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
