Full casting announced for hang and Standing at the Sky’s Edge

We're excited to announce the casts for hang in the Studio theatre from Wednesday 20 February – Saturday 9 March and Standing at the Sky’s Edge in the Crucible from Thursday 14 March– Saturday 6 April.

hang, written by Olivier and BAFTA award winning debbie tucker green, is set in nearly-now Britain, with a radically altered legal system, and a woman who has been the victim of a serious crime take control of the perpetrator’s fate. This searing and darkly humorous play explores morality and a sense of justice through the lens of one victim’s decision.

Directed by Taio Lawson, hang features Marianne Oldham (A Very English Scandal) as One, Sid Sagar (Press) as Two and Diveen Henry (Apple Tree Yard) as Three.

Standing at the Sky’s Edge – with music and lyrics by Sheffield’s own Richard Hawley – is in the Crucible. In 1961, the first residents of Park Hill were given the keys to their new homes; follow their story over the next 50 years in a heart-swelling, heart-breaking love song to Sheffield. Written by Chris Bush (Steel) and directed by Sheffield Theatres’ Artistic Director Robert Hastie (The Wizard of Oz, The York Realist) The full cast features: Darragh Cowley (Spring Awakening), Nicole Deon (Dreamgirls), Louis Gaunt (Kiss Me, Kate), Adam Hugill (Pennyworth), Robert Lonsdale (Chewing Gun), Fela Lufadeju (Guys & Dolls), Maimuna Memon (Jesus Christ Superstar), Johanne Murdock (Hollyoaks), Damian Myerscough (Coronation Street), Alastair Natkiel (Line of Duty), Faith Omole (An Idea Husband), Deborah Tracey (A Mad World My Masters), Rachael Wooding (Fat Friends the Musical) and Alex Young (Follies).

hang runs at the Studio Theatre from Wednesday 20 February – Saturday 9 March, and Standing at the Sky’s Edge runs at the Crucible from Thursday 14 March– Saturday 6 April. Tickets are on sale now.
