Celebrating Daniel Evans’ Tenure

As Daniel Evans' tenure comes to an end we have been looking back on his last seven years as Artistic Director.

Daniel, who joined Sheffield in 2009 following a successful acting career, has led the company to great acclaim after winning a host of awards during his time in the city.

Many theatregoers will associate Daniel with a string of successful musicals including My Fair Lady, Oliver!, Show Boat and Anything Goes, alongside new musicals Flowers for Mrs Harris and This My Family.

He also directed a new adaptation of the film The Full Monty, which went on to win a UK Theatre Award for Best Touring Production.

Sheffield Theatres went on to win The Stage Regional Theatre of the Year Award in 2013 and 2014, and Daniel established the Sheffield People's Theatre - one of the first intergenerational theatre groups in the UK.
