Cast announced for One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest

The cast has been announced for Sheffield Theatres production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in the Crucible from Fri 8 June – Sat 23 June.

Directed by Sheffield Theatres’ award-winning Associate Director Javaad Alipoor, the cast features Lucy Black who recently appeared in The York Realist, returning as Nurse Ratched, with Arthur Hughes who appeared in last year's Julius Caesar playing Billy Bibbitt. The iconic character of Randle P McMurphy is played by Joel Gillman (Silent Witness) and Jeremy Proulx (Of Mice and Men) joins the cast to play Chief Bromden.

The cast is completed by: Nathan Amzi (The Voice UK), Andrew Dennis (Othello), Harry Egan (Breaking the Code), Clive Hayward (A Touch of Frost), Tom Hodgkins (The Bill), Melissa Johns (Coronation Street), Mohammad Mansaray (Law and Order), Shaun Mason (Trollied)Jack Tarlton (Doctor Who) and Shelley Williams (Sleeping Beauty).

Determined to avoid a term in jail, small time criminal McMurphy opts to spend his sentence in a psychiatric ward. As the reality of his incarceration dawns, he comes up against the authoritarian Nurse Ratched, who is not about to give up on her regime of discipline and order without a fight.
