Children’s University

What is Children’s University?

Sheffield Children’s University is part of an exciting national organisation that encourages and celebrates children and young people, from ages 4 up until 19, who take part in a wide range of inspiring learning activities outside school hours.

Activities might take place at schools such as breakfast clubs, lunchtime clubs, after-school and holiday activities as well as at approved activity providers called ‘Learning Destinations’. Sheffield Theatres is proud to be a learning destination!

If your child attends a Sheffield school and has a Passport to Learning, they can collect credits by taking part in activities at Learning Destinations.  All the credits gained get marked into the passport and signed off. One credit is awarded for each hour of learning that takes place. These are then converted into awards:

  • Bronze (30 hours)
  • Silver (65 hours)
  • Gold (100 hours)

…and these continue right up to 1000 hours!

More information can be found here! www.sheffield.gov.uk/cu

After you have been to see a show at one of our venues, you can download the form below and complete a review for the show you have seen. This way you can start gaining credits right away! There is also a quick guide to filling out the review if you need a little help. Make sure you send in your review so we can award your CU credits.
