Barnsley based poet and storyteller Lee Pollard brings his one man, one hour, comedy spoken word show Hiding from Wobbly Bob to The Crucible. Lee has recently taken an enforced absence from presenting poetry after badly burning the inside of his ear with the filling from a meat pie. Now, having fully recovered, he is back with a show which has been described as "quite funny in places" by his wife, Tina.
During the performance you will hear stories and poems about such things as: club trips, “special" shoes, Barnsley weddings, vol au vents and balaclavas.
The show will also feature a rendition of a deeply moving and poignant tale of a lost childhood friendship entitled “Never Set Fire to Your Friends”, a stark warning of the consequences of the inappropriate use of creosote and other flammable wood preservatives.
Lee's stories are regularly featured on BBC Radio Sheffield and in a range of venues across Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
