Unique Fundraising Events

Our 2016 Fundraising Gala took place on Thursday 26 May and raised £37,100, which will make a significant contribution to the work we undertake this year.

For this, our sixth Gala, we offered our guests a unique insight into Flowers for Mrs Harris, Daniel Evans' final production as Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres. During the evening, guests were taken on a journey through the Crucible Theatre, enjoying a sumptuous 3 course dinner and surprise musical performances from the cast of Flowers for Mrs Harris, culminating in a duet between Clare Burt and Daniel Evans.

Guests also watched a short film which charts the Theatres' investment in and development of new talent and new writing over the last seven years; work that has only been possible thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors.

The Theatres held a raffle during the evening and Daniel Evans hosted a show-stopping auction of exclusive ‘money-can’t-buy’ experiential prizes.

Dan Bates, Chief Executive said: ‘The annual Gala has become a major highlight of our fundraising activity and the Sheffield social calendar. It was wonderful to celebrate the remarkable work that's been made possible by our donors over the last seven years, and to look to the next twelve months which promise a wealth of exciting productions and developments. We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our guests. Our mission is to change people's lives through the experience of live theatre: I am proud of our track record of doing this and look forward to continuing our commitment.'
