Rambert Dance Company returns to Sheffield with its 22 award-winning dancers, among the finest and most versatile in the world, and uplifting live music from Rambert Orchestra superbly enhancing the experience.
Artistic Director Mark Baldwin’s brand new work commemorates the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s momentous publication On the Origin of Species. It skilfully blends dance and science using a specially-commissioned score by renowned British composer Julian Anderson and production design by Kader Attia, one of the leading lights of Paris’ contemporary art scene. The programme also includes a revival of Siobhan Davies’ award-winning The Art of Touch, and the musical beauty of Henri Oguike’s Tread Softly.
