Horrid Henry at Hospital!

Actor Stephen McGill and star of Horrid Henry – Live and Horrid! which currently is running at the Lyceum visited Sheffield Children’s Hospital to read a story to the orthopaedic ward. Dressed as his alter ego Horrid Henry, Stephen read a story from the much loved ‘Horrid Henry’ books by Francesca Simon. The children were delighted to have Stephen reading to them and because he knows Henry better than most (as he plays him in the show everyday!); he gave a truly magical reading.
Stephen read to a select few on S3 ward of the hospital, Jack Roberts (pictured) one of the children at the event said “I’m a huge fan of Horrid Henry and I have a box set of the books I was really excited about having him come to read to us!”
Stephen will also be reading again at ‘Art In The Gardens’ Sunday 7 September 11am to raise awareness of PACT (Parent's Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia. PACT provides support for parents of children with cancer at Sheffield Children's Hospital. Services include outings for children, home from home accommodation and two holiday caravans. PACT was formed in 1977 when a group of parents realised they were not alone in their need to be in touch with others whose children also had cancer. Money donated to PACT is used in three areas. The General Fund, Research, and Home from Home. Art in the Gardens is hosted at the Botanical Gardens, the gardens are transformed into an art and craft 'village' where there are vast numbers of exhibiting artist and craftspeople displaying a wide variety of creations. In it's fifth year "Art in the Gardens" is already proving to be a serious contender as the largest outdoor art exhibition in the North of England.
