The tables are turned; the design is up to you.
Working in the theatre alongside professional theatre Designer Kevin Jenkins, re-imagine one of our spaces. Develop your ideas into detailed sketches, and then watch as your design is realised. Working as a team of designers, you will be responsible for creating the space for Sheffield Theatres’ NT Connections Festival. This exciting project explores in detail the role of designer, whilst giving you the opportunity to live it!
This is a fantastic experience for anyone interested in designing for theatre and exciting spaces!
Please note: Participants will need to be available for all sessions, and will be expected to carry out research and projects between sessions.

Crucible
The Crucible is the main producing venue in the Sheffield Theatres complex. On occasion, the Crucible hosts touring work. The Crucible is also the home of the annual World Snooker Championship.
The performance area is a thrust stage which extends into the auditorium, enabling the audience to watch the action on three sides. No member of the audience is ever further than 22 metres from the stage, and the sightlines are excellent, offering equality of experience across the auditorium.
