Crucible Young Writers
Presented at Studio
Develop a short new play from scratch with professional playwright Richard Hurford.
Work closely with Richard over a number of weeks and discover more about play writing; how a writer starts with an idea and turns it into an interesting, exciting play! Each session will support participants in the development of their piece, and new challenges will be set as your play takes shape.
Participants will be given a deadline of Monday 19 March to submit their final draft. All plays will be read and four will be selected to be given a day of dramaturgy with the writer, actors and a director. The four plays will then receive a rehearsed reading on the evening of Wednesday 4 April in the Studio Theatre.
Participants need to attend all sessions and are expected to develop their piece between sessions. All participants will receive a ticket to the rehearsed reading on the evening of Wednesday 4 April.
Please note: Participants need to bring a packed lunch to full day sessions; there will be an hour’s unsupervised lunch break.
