Becoming a Young Associate opens up a variety of opportunities for you to get closer to the action of Sheffield Theatres. Whether it's a regular group, a one off workshop or a performance project that you're after, there's plenty to choose from.

We believe that all young people should have the opportunity to express themselves creatively through theatre.

Sheffield Theatres’ Young Associates Network aims to:

  • Ensure that young people have the confidence and ability to shape the future through challenging and creative theatre making
  •  Excite and inspire through bold and inspirational theatre work
  • Provide a supportive and accessible environment for Young Associates to express themselves in brave and dynamic ways
  • Nurture talent and support the development of future creative practitioners
  • Aspire to the highest standards of professionalism in terms of both process and product
  • Urge young people to work together responsibly and use their collective voice with the utmost integrity

It is up to the theatre, the practitioners and the Young Associates themselves to uphold these beliefs and encourage innovation, openness and inclusion in every aspect of our creative practice.

The Young Associates Network is open to everyone and is a fun and inclusive way to make new friends, develop skills and learn about theatre. So if you are aged 11 – 26 then click here to find out all the ways you can get involved and click here to find out how to apply. We currently work with over 200 young people from all over Sheffield and South Yorkshire so make sure you sign up and get involved in this thriving and exciting group.

Membership of the Young Associates Network is open to everyone and we would particularly welcome applications from:

  • People from all minority groups
  • Young males interested in drama
  • Young people interested in the technical side of theatre
