Suitcase City, Sheffield Theatres’ small scale touring production, was enthusiastically received in 24 schools and community venues throughout South Yorkshire during March 2009. 

The play followed the journey of four characters living in Sheffield, whose creation was inspired by oral histories collected through the Heritage Lottery funded project, Journeys to the City. 

140 pupils from local schools took part in an education project arising from the themes of the play that culminated in a sharing on the Crucible stage.
