Characters

Battina

A little girl who wants to be a bat. A spiky child around the age of 6 or 7. Direct, inquisitive, confident.

Mrs Stickler
Battina’s mother. An unhappy woman who spends too much time in the gym but gets no pleasure from it. She always worries about what other people will think.

Mr Stickler
Battina’s father. A constantly irritated man who always looks as though his suit is a size too small.

The Moon
A fantastical creature, she is not a woman or a man. Vain, thoughtless, funny, kind, hugely optimistic, lonely.

Major
A Star Bear and a silent character, this is nonetheless an intelligent bear. Gentle, loyal, without him The Moon would be totally lost. Although she pretends to be in charge, it is to Major that she looks for support when the going gets tough out in space. A bear with a brain, a heart and a big sense of fun and mischief. He is what a teddy bear come to life should be.
