Sheffield Theatres offer a variety of exciting events which allow you to do as the name describes - join in and find out about The Comedy of Errors.

They cater for a variety of ages and needs and the following list describes each event in more detail.

Young People’s Performance – YP
A chance for young people, between the ages of 16 and 26, to see the show plus an opportunity to provide feedback to the company.
Tuesday 31 May, 7.30 pm - £5.00

Pre-Show Talk - PST
With Professor Lisa Hopkins, Professor of English, University of Sheffield. The lecture provides an opportunity to learn more about the play, prior to seeing the show. Suitable for University aged students and above.
Thursday 2 June, 6.00 pm to 6.30 pm - £1.50

Behind The Scenes - BTS
Find out more about the production with a talk and backstage tour. Suitable for all ages and can include school parties as well as individuals. Limited places are available so early booking is recommended.
Tuesday 7 June, 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm - £2.50

Page to Stage - P2S
A practical exploration of the issues raised in staging the play, led by the Director with members of the company. It includes an introduction to the production decisions, gives a demonstration of the rehearsal process and includes how the technical aspects of a show, such as light and sound, contribute to the staging of a production. This session is run as a lecture-demonstration but includes the opportunity to ask questions and participate in some activities. This event is suitable for everyone but can be of specific interest to students.
Thursday 9 June, 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm - £2.50

Sign Language Interpreted Performance – SP
A performance which will also be sign language interpreted for hearing impaired patrons.
Thursday 9 June, 7.30 pm - usual performance ticket prices apply.

Talk Back - TB
A chance for audience members to ask questions and discuss the play with the Director and members of the company. Suitable for all ages.
Thursday 9 June, post show - free to performance ticket holders.

Touch Tour – TT
An opportunity for visually impaired patrons to explore the set and feel the costumes, as well as an introduction to the voices of members of the company.
Friday 10 June, 6.00 pm – free to performance ticket holders

Audio Described Performance - AD
The audio-described performance offers a service for visually impaired or blind patrons whereby visual elements of the performance are conveyed through headsets by a member of our qualified audio describers team.
Friday 10 June, 7.30 pm – usual performance ticket prices apply

Sheffield Theatres Backstage Tours

Saturday 21 May, 10.30 am
Friday 10 June, 10.30 am
£3.00 (£1.50 discounts and Square Circle members).


Workshops for Schools/Colleges
'Discovering The Comedy of Errors' workshops are available to schools/colleges who are attending a performance.

This is an exciting opportunity to allow pupils to discover more about Shakespeare's play and our production, prior to seeing the show.

The workshops will be available on selected dates in the weeks commencing Monday 23 May and Tuesday 7 June, with either a morning or afternoon session.

Numbers of those taking part will be limited to 30.
